1. Be Yourself and Don't Pretend To Be What/Who You're Not.

Communication is the engine room of any relationship. God intentionally put the power of life and death in the tongue.

One of the reasons why most long distance relationship don't work out is poor communication.

I have a mentor. When they were dating, the boyfriend was in the U.S during this time, there was no social media so all they had was phone call.

The wife who was a girlfriend then didn't have a phone so she would have to sleep in a neighbour's house who had a phone to talk to his boyfriend at midnight.

They were is a long distance but communication was not a barrier, they still kept in touch with each other.

This days, communication has become so cheap that you can stay connected with each other 24/7.

He doesn't have to be the only one doing the calling.

My fiancee had sent me airtime than I've sent to her. The idea is not to announce who should do what, the idea is to stay connected no matter what.

When you talk often, it keeps your memories fresh in your lover's heart and also keep you updated with what is happening in his or her life.

Another thing communication does is that, it shuts the door against an intruder.

No guy can freak you with excessive calls when you are always talking to your boo on the phone.

Don't lie about your family, don't fake how much you have in your account. It will only complicate things.

I was in 100L second semester when I met my fiancee whereas she had finished schooling since 2014 and working. Yet she accepted and respect me so much.

3. Don't keep your ex too close or keep a member of the opposite sex as your best friend.

4. Appreciate Your Partner even When He or She didn't do anything.

Appreciation is what make people feel loved and important.

Appreciation brings out the best in a person.

Learn how to appreciate your partner and make it an habit.

Give her a surprise call. This time I mean organize someone most especially a member of the opposite sex to help thank her for all her efforts and sacrifices on you.
It is not easy to find a supportive and caring partner.

These days, people go into relationships for selfish reasons but when you find that special person who loves you for who you are and he or she is ready to go extra miles with you, you have found a rare gem, jealously honour it.

Appreciate such a one every hour of the day.

Appreciate and celebrate every little efforts.

It is a 100 naira recharge card or just a bracelet, or a take away pack for dinner...anything. say "thank, it means a lot"

5. Have time for the 3 Ps-Plan, Pray and Play.

Proper Planning and Preparation Prevents Poor Performance.

Your relationship can't successfully transit without proper and adequate planning. Have a draw board where both of you draw plans and come up with strategies for execution.

For us in this century and nation, there is a lot of things to plan ahead for maritally, socially,  spiritually and career wise.

Family is a great responsibility. You.must plan ahead if you don't want to end up like every other ones you see on the street.

The time for planning our future is now!
Prayer is one thing you don't want to joke with.

I forbid you to enter into a relationship with someone that cannot pray.

My life would have been a complete mess if my mom wasn't a prayerful wife. My destiny was spelled out for a failure by my enemies but my mom called it to the right order on the alter of prayer.

We have praying and fasting days in my relationship. It has become a habit for us.

It could be on the phone or physically, please keep  your prayer life burning.
