There seemed to exist some form of unspoken tension between Antonio and Anne. She always pretended to be asleep to avoid speaking to him, and he also used that opportunity to greedily look at her all he wanted.
The day for Anne’s operation was finally here. This time around, Antonio accompanied her to the operating room. He held tightly unto her hand: "Anne, the operation will be successful, don’t be scared, I will be with you."
