EXTRA: We are using Nigerian grinding machine in London — women display skills during Ramadan (video)

Assalatur Rahman Islamic Association, a charity organisation in London, has called on fellow Muslims to come break their fast with them.

In a trending video, the group comprising of women were seen cooking for the evening Iftar.

They showed different kitchen utensils that were being used for the preparation of the day’s dinner.

”Salam Malekum. Ramadan Kareem,” they chorused.

”We are blending pepper in London, UK. We are using this machine from Nigeria in London; the local grinding machine; we are frying meat,” they said.

”This is our gas, this is our kitchen, we have our freezer here for storing, this is our store.”

They urged fellow Muslims to come dine with them while showing the different delicacies for the evening meal.

”Today is 2nd of June, 2018. You can come and have your dinner here, come and join us. We welcome everybody, to come and break their fast here,” one of them said.

”We are cooking jollofrice; we have fried meat. Jollofrice is our menu today.

”We have fresh pear, fresh bananas for breaking fast. We are at Rahman central mosque in London, UK.”

While their little charade was still going on, Antonio escorted Anne to her room.

Alice seeing that the baby was still with Sedem said “give me the baby now so I can put him to sleep.” To Sedem’s surprise, she stretched out her slender arms to take the baby.

"No, the baby will cry ..." He didn’t have time to finish his sentence when Alice with an unbelievable grace and maternal radiance hugged the baby to her chest. The baby settled in beautifully and closed his eyes.

“For real? Damn it!”

Getting to the house, Anne was surprised to see Alice, Terry and Micky, all at the house waiting for her. Alice joyfully came to meet her and embraced her in a warm hug. She was so happy to see her.

Alice looking at Anne noticed that she still looked very fragile and tired. She therefore asked that they be excused so the baby could be attended to, and for Anne to get some rest.

The day for Anne to be discharged finally arrived.

She had been able to regain some amount of her strength back. But she still needed to get more rest and sleep. With the baby in Antonio’s hands, they walked down the staircase into the parking lot. There, Sedem was waiting for them with Antonio’s car.

Antonio usually liked to drive himself, but this time around, he allowed Sedem to take the driver’s seat.

That was the only distraction Antonio could think of at this time.

“Get ready,” he said. ”I’m going to get a fresh basin of water and some towels.”

He entered the bathroom without looking back and spent over half an hour inside there.

Anne wondered what he was up to. It shouldn’t take him that long to get a basin of water.

Anne lied in bed watching Antonio type away on his laptop. She hadn’t been discharged from the hospital yet, and Antonio spent every single day with her. He brought his work to the office so he could be with her. All this was very new and unreal to Anne. Was this the same old Antonio she knew?

Antonio turned his head and caught Anne staring at him. He laughed and walked up to her bed.

Not being able to keep it to herself anymore, Anne asked. “so when are you planning on telling me that you are getting married to Stacey, and that because she can’t give birth, you are going to give my baby to her?”

There seemed to exist some form of unspoken tension between Antonio and Anne. She always pretended to be asleep to avoid speaking to him, and he also used that opportunity to greedily look at her all he wanted.

The day for Anne’s operation was finally here. This time around, Antonio accompanied her to the operating room. He held tightly unto her hand: "Anne, the operation will be successful, don’t be scared, I will be with you."
